Sell us back your pre-loved clothing!

Send back your pre-loved Natal Active garments and earn vouchers for future purchases!

As part of our programme to build our sustainable practises and support charitable causes that support women, we have launched a Pre-Loved Programme in partnership with pre and postnatal clothing rental and resale platform For The Creators.

While all of our clothing has been designed to fit through every stage of your pregnancy and throughout your postnatal journey, we still want to do as much as we can to reduce the 350,000 tonnes of clothing that ends up in landfill each year.

We understand that at times you may need a different size, you may want to invest in new colours or that you may have come to the end of breastfeeding and simply want to move back to non-maternity sportswear.

Therefore, in order to increase the lifecycle of our clothing, you can now ‘sell back’ your pre-loved Natal Active products, in exchange for a £5 Natal Active gift voucher per item returned to us*. You can either use this yourself or gift it to a pregnant or breastfeeding friend to use.

These items will either be re-loved through our partnership with For The Creators, where they can be bought or rented, re-purposed, where we will donate them to suitable charities, or sustainably recycled.

Natal Active’s net proceeds from the sale and rental of the clothing will be donated to Women’s Aid.

How does it work?

  • Complete and print this donation form
  • Enclose it with your returned products – we kindly ask that these are washed before posting
  • On receipt of the items, we will email you or your nominated friend a voucher code to use on future Natal Active purchases

Your pre-loved clothes will be either…

  • Sold or made available to rent online through For The Creators
  • Repurposed, where they are donated to suitable charities
  • Recycled through suitable fabric recycling centres

Who are For The Creators?

For The Creators is an everlasting wardrobe of high quality pre and postnatal clothing that evolves in line with a woman's changing body. As a new mum, it can take up to a year for our bodies to fully recover from pregnancy and during that time our shape and size will change dramatically. This means that women are forced to repeatedly spend money on new clothes that result in high levels of waste, both in terms of cost and environmental impact.

For The Creators was founded by    Lyndsay Mason in November 2020 as a solution to her own experience of not having anything to wear following the birth of her son Hamish and amassing clothing in an array of sizes, most of which soon became too big and therefore redundant. They have curated the best of the high-end high street, enabling women to rent and buy pre-loved clothing that makes them feel the best versions of themselves throughout their pregnancy and postpartum journey without worrying about the cost to both their bank balance and the environment. And for every order they also plant one tree in partnership with Ecologi.

Why Women’s Aid?

If domestic abuse is something you have never experienced, you may wonder why it is a subject raised by your midwife in your antenatal appointments. This is because as many as 1 in 3 women experience domestic abuse (whether physical, emotional, financial or sexual) during pregnancy. In fact, pregnancy can be a trigger for domestic abuse and existing abuse may get worse during pregnancy or after giving birthIt is estimated that domestic abuse during pregnancy starts in nearly a third of cases.

Women’s Aid is a national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children and ensuring violence against women is no longer tolerated.

Over the past 45 years, Women’s Aid has been at the forefront of shaping and coordinating responses to domestic abuse through practice, research and policy. They empower survivors by keeping their voices at the heart of their work, working with and for women and children by listening to them and responding to their needs.

Never has their work been in greater need. The charity’s recent Survivor Survey found that the COVID-19 pandemic has escalated abuse and closed down routes to safety for those experiencing abuse, and those for whom home is not a safe place. In the survey, 67 per cent of survivors who are currently experiencing abuse said it has got worse since Covid-19 and 72 per cent said their abuser had more control over their life.

When you donate to Women’s Aid you are supporting a movement that is committed to ending domestic abuse, and ensuring violence against women is no longer tolerated.
